Epik High – [e] + SuJu M – Super Girl

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

WHOOT I know people have been hyped about these two releases…..although Epik High was more quiet about it.

I didn’t put them into zip files T^T (sorry~!!) so when you go to the link, it’s a folder with all the songs in it.

[e] (part 1) – Epik High

[e] (part 2) – Epik High

And this is the Wannabe MV. When you see the file name, it’s probably gonna say just MV on it cause for some reason, it replaces the korean title with a space =___= it’s weird like that.

Also, here’s the Super Girl MV if you want ^^ it was FUNNY XDDD

After a day of using it, I absolutely LOVE IT~! But of course, there has to be some things that aren’t good about it XD

My biggest complaint was the EmoDio software that you have to get =___= I mean, you don’t NEED it persay…..unless you wanna get pictures and videos onto your player, THEN you need it. You have to convert and everything which I don’t mind, but the program is a tad bit slow o.o strangely. Maybe it’s just me. But I really don’t like it XD sadly, I need it =___=

One other complaint was that the headphone jack was right next to the charger. When you want to disconnect the player, you need to press the sides of the USB to get it out, but you can’t do that with the earphones in the way…..you have to take out the earphones, then unplug the USB and then plug back the earphones again =___= oh speaking of earphones…….DO NOT USE THE EARPHONES THAT COME WITH THE PLAYER xDDD hell, even my Skullcandy earbuds sound better than it xDDD

Now the good stuff……it is SERIOUSLY responsive. Maybe it’s the upgraded firmware, but it’s A LOT more sensitive and responsive than I thought it’d be o.o pages move really smooth and it detects gestures really well. I’m actually impressed. And there’s a lot less mispresses like when you’re touching the screen to do one thing and it accidentally does another. It doesn’t do that anymore :D one sad thing is that it didn’t come with the Sketchbook widget T^T I really wanted that……

It loads pretty fast and the build quality is what I expected. All metal and glass. The hairline finish on the back seriously is GORGEOUS. I never thought I’d like the silver version, but hell I LOVE IT. It’s not too heavy but it’s not light enough to make it feel like you’ll snap it if you drop it.

I also didn’t find the volume buttons on top to be too much of a problem O.o cause when you’re holding it and using it, your hands are automatically gonna hold the entire player, not just the bottom part, so getting to the volume controls weren’t much of a pain as I thought it’d be.

Recording quality was also AWESOME. It’s more real and clear than most mp3 players’ recorders I’ve used, thanks to Samsung’s awesome audio chip ^^

And the haptic feedback is awesome XD I don’t know why, but it’s so fun xD

It did freeze sometimes, but when you press the power button, it actually shuts down and then reboots itself so you won’t be needing to press the reset button too many times *^^*

So yeah, that’s the P3 in all its pwnage godly glory XD I did take some pictures of it, but currently too lazy to put them up xDD

YP-P3 theme tutorial

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

I’m sorry that I don’t have screenshots available T^T I’m in the middle of getting Flash8 Flash CS4 for the computer I’m on right now…..but I’ll be sure to be as clear as possible.

First, you’ll need this SDK file.

To get Flash8 Flash CS4, just go here. When you install and it gives you a list of what programs you want, unless you know what each program does, I’d choose only Flash cause I accidentally chose everything and it took FOREVER to install T^T I tried putting this on my MF account, but I can’t put files that are more than 100MB…..if you’re planning to keep this for more than 30 days, use the keygen ^^

SIDENOTE: When you make a theme, make sure you save it as actionscript2.0 because the P3 doesn’t support anything higher than 2.0 or Flash8. If you can’t do that, then you can always create a new file as actionscript2.0.

After you get the SDK file and Flash8 Flash CS4, just open the file and you should see some weird theme already there……that’s what I was working on, sorry xDDD but basically, you replace the background images and icons with whatever you want.

b a c k g r o u n d

The background must be in three parts. Each part must be 480×272. What I do is make a new file in Photoshop (I use Gimp, but whatever XD) and make the size 480×816. Make the image I want, then I take the rectangular selecting tool and select exactly 480×272 starting from the left. Every time I select an area, I copy and paste onto a new file (with dimensions as 480×272) and I keep doing that with the rest of them. Pay really close attention though when you’re selecting. It can’t be off by a single pixel >o<

Now when you copy and paste and make a new file, make sure you name it “background1.1″ and the next one “background1.2″ and the last one “background1.3″. This way, it’s in order when you’re making your theme.

The reason I do it this way is because you’re going to make one big image and end up cutting it up anyways. Making the individual background parts and trying to make sure it matches with the other parts can be really annoying and tedious. So yeah.

i c o n s

You can make your icons whatever way you want, just make sure the size is 60×60. No more, no less. When you name them, make sure you name them:

“address1″, “alarm1″, “bluetooth1″, “calculator1″, “datacast1″, “dict1″, “files1″, “flash1″, “games1″, “music1″, “pictures1″, “radio1″, “recoder1″, “settings1″, “sketch1″, “subway1″, “text1″, and “videos1″.

If you don’t know what some of these are, don’t worry, you’ll see when you open the file.

God, screenshots would make this so much easier =___= well I only have the backgrounds of the previous theme I made, so I guess I can put that up at least.

They look squished, but you can see the real size by clicking on them. You see where there are lines? That’s where I separated them. Hehe.

I’ll try to put up screenshots as soon as possible so that it’s easy to follow T^T

I’m so excited, I just ordered my P3 xDD I can’t wait to see it in all its glory XDD

copyrights

Monday, September 14th, 2009

There are copyrights violations EVERYWHERE cause of some stupid rule. Veoh, youtube, any place with audio and video services now has these retarded copyright rules. And for what?

I understand that the companies are like going all crazy about their stuff being used without permission, BLAH BLAH BLAH like REALLY.

Some of these people that are being penalized seriously did nothing wrong. Some examples:
* only parts of songs are used for the sake of openings and closings of videos
* AMVs are purely fanmade and for entertainment
* a lot of these people actually bought the music/video
* MVs can usually be seen on the official site for free ANYWAYS so what’s the big deal, watching it on youtube is all the same, only with worse quality…..goddamn, these companies have to CHILL.

Ok? Like really, this is getting way out of hand. Even some small comedians on youtube are getting penalized like WTF???

If file sharing is what they’re worried about, I only got one thing to say to that: file sharing is just like lending someone a cd and letting them rip the music onto their comp. It’s the same effect. You’re letting them get the music for free. Seriously now. It doesn’t take that much brain power to understand this.

If you’re gonna copyright stuff, copyright the stuff that’s like unofficial and bad quality. Don’t take down videos unexpectedly just cause like 5 secs of a song is in it. There are some youtube accounts being made that have official stuff on them, so that’s fine, but others who make their own stuff and just use bits of video or audio are being treated unfairly. It’s friggin RIDICULOUS.

If I made a video for my own purpose and it got taken down for such a retarded reason, I’d be like SCREW YOU I’m gonna post this video up so many times you’ll get tired of taking it down and if they got something to say to that, then I got something to say, too. I got my own rights and I’m not backing down without a real fight.

So yeah anyways….XDD *digressing deshou~* copyrights laws should have its limits, too cause this is crazy =___= videos being taken down left and right and front and back.

STOP deshou xD

OH and this is the ever-so-famous video from Nigahiga about copyrights XD cause I felt like it and cause he’s mad funny :3

밥줘 (Give me food)

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

I just couldn’t resist talking about this k-drama. I tend to stay away from most k-dramas, but this one was better than most :P

밥줘

Basically, this drama deals with many different domestic issues and some morality stuff with some psychoticness/stupidity mixed in. In the beginning, I thought it was gonna be a comedy with some romance in it, but as the story progresses (unlike most k-dramas these days, this isn’t a “mini-drama”, so it’s still running), the plot got more complicated and more serious and just keeps you shaking your head going “these people are ridiculous” xD it made me wanna actually go in the drama and beat the crap out of them xDDD

I’m not gonna say too much about it (cause I don’t wanna ruin anything), other than that it’s much better than most typical k-dramas (the dramatic romance stuff). For a more detailed description: 밥줘

Samsung YP-P3

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

You’ve probably seen this in my favorites list *^^* but it’s just so good that I simply MUST let others know, if you haven’t heard about it already.

yp-p3

Let’s start with the specs :D get all the nerdy stuff out of the way xD

>> Specs <<

Capacities: 4GB ($120-$130), 8GB ($130-$190), 16GB ($170 – $250), 32GB ($300) – these are prices I found in various sites…..not many sites have the 4GB or 32GB T^T
Colors: black, silver
Dimensions: 2.1″ x 4.0″ x 0.4″
Weight: 3.4oz
Display: 3″ touchscreen with 480×272 resolution and haptic feedback
Supported audio: MP3, WMA, OGG, AAC, FLAC
Supported video: MPEG-4, WMV, H.264, AVI (DivX and XviD)
Supported photo: JPEG, BMP, PNG
Rated battery life: 30hrs (audio), 5hrs (video)
Connection: MTP

>> Design <<

I thought the design was pretty nice. VERY nice. The screen, first of all, is a nice 3″, which is plenty of space. Added to that, the screen is made of tough glass, so it won’t be scratched by your keys or anything (someone actually made a video testing this, it was amazing O.o). And the body has this awesome metal finish to it. I wouldn’t say it’s that heavy, but it has enough weight to make it feel durable (in which is certainly is).

On the sides of the player, there’s nothing, just a silver line going around it. On the top though, you got a power/hold button, volume controls and a mono speaker. In between the volume controls and the speaker there’s this little pseudo-button that I wish they used to make more room for the speaker =__= well anyways…..it’s nice that they have a speaker in the first place :D I do find the placement of the volume controls a little weird. You have to reach to the top of the player to control volume…..something I’ll have to get used to.

On the bottom, there’s the 3.5mm headphone jack with Samsung’s proprietary USB connection and the reset/mic hole…..how they combined reset and mic is beyond me xD

It’s nice that they got rid of that useless circle light thingy that was on the P2 xD it was starting to get annoying cause so much space was being wasted.

Now I’ll talk a little more about the display. The screen looks so clear and nice. The 480×272 is pretty good and everything’s so crisp, it’s beautiful ^^ the only thing I’m concerned about is the smoothness of the screen cause after all, it’s a touchscreen. If you use it right and you update it regularly, it shouldn’t be a big problem. Now this will lead into the UI…..

>> UI <<

Just in case, UI stands for: user interface. It’s basically how everything looks, like the icons, the menus, etc.

So yeah, the UI is soooo nice. Well, depending on how you configure it. The way it comes in the box…..some might not like it. The background’s nice, but I didn’t like the icons xD I never liked Samsung’s icons THAT much. The good thing is, you can make your own themes using Flash Macromedia 8 (which I did, but I have no talent for this xD). There’s a generous person who teaches how to make your own theme :]

There’s also widgets. Some come out-of-the-box and there are some pretty useful and cute ones :D one that’s famous is the sleep cat xD I don’t know why people think this is useless cause it basically sets a timer for when the player turns off. Handy if you’re the type of person who falls asleep to your music then wakes up next morning to find that your battery is dead (like myself). You can move these around (you can move the icons also) but I think there’s a limit of like 5 pages O.o there’s also this bar you’ll see under the screen that’s touch-sensitive. Depending on how you touch it, it’ll either bring up the widget bar or a simple music player that has like play/pause/skip, etc.

The P3 uses Samsung’s ARM chip, I believe, which is one THE best sound chips out there. If I’m wrong, then I’m so sorry T^T but it doesn’t change the fact that the audio quality on this thing is SUPERB~~ and on top of that, they have a 7-BAND customizable EQ, that is CRAZYYY. And they already have a bunch of preset EQs that work pretty well. The music options are AWESOME~ oh and they also have the folder viewing option, if you like going through your music that way. That’s where you can also delete files. Not many players allow you to delete files right off the player so that’s awesome. Oh oh and one nice thing to note is that it allows you to create a few playlists, I think it was up to 5 o.o I don’t know if you can name them, though.

Now, the connection…..when you connect it to your computer, it shows as a storage device, which means you can simply drag-and-drop. I personally must use media players (like WMP) to sync my stuff (ID3 tag OCD). But you don’t have to. That’s a nice option ^^ speaking of connection, I forgot to mention that it has Bluetooth capabilities. It’s able to connect to phones and headphones using Bluetooth. But one problem. Many people complained about how it doesn’t connect to many Bluetooth headsets or phones. The reason is that the P3 uses Bluetooth 2.1 while most things use 2.0. No wonder they’re not compatible.

It also supports flash games :3 as I believe it, it comes preloaded with a few O.o oh and uh, it also supports TTS (text to speech), just to put that out there xD

Now to change the theme, it comes with a CD that as the EmoDio software, but I recommend that you don’t use it =___= I really…..recommend that you don’t.

>> Resources <<

Well I mentioned many things that are from other sources, so I want to share them with you ^^

Appliance Best Buys – 8GB YP-P3 for $135 + tax
Partsearch-technologies – Samsung USB for $8
ABI – extras for P3 (support, firmware updates, etc.)
Gomdol’s themes

I tried to find the video of the guy proving the screen’s durability with knives but I couldn’t find it T^T I couldn’t find that list of phone compatible with the P3, either T^T nor the tutorial that this guy made T_T I remember how to do it though so I’ll try to upload the files that he provided T^T

But I so say that it’s well worth the money if you do get one :D just don’t, PLEASE don’t go on EmoDio, it’ll give you a MASSIVE headache. Of course, almost any Korean program can give you a headache =___=

yooo [and so it begins...]

First post~ xDD and I’m in class…..philosophy, learning about the amazing Greek architecture. It might sound boring, but it’s surprisingly interesting O.o and why is the teacher not in the room xD as I continue to get more apps :] apps are fun~ should I rant something while I’m at it XD about APPLE *gasp*

MP3s
Ok, so….Apple….we all love this company (you wish). A lot of people do. You see how many how many millions of iPods are sold every year? Yes, it did recently go down, but that’s still 70% of the mp3 market =__=  they got nothing to worry about. I don’t like them. Really. When they first came out, they were pretty adorable cause they were easy to use and everything, but the more advanced they got, the more I lost interest. It just became this iconic thing that everyone around the world wanted =__=  and they were so overpriced, too. The iTouch is also something that’s just like GAH. I mean, yeah, it’s skinny (anorexic much) and can do GAZILLIONS of things cause of the app store (the app store, I like). But I just don’t like things that are like teeny tiny computers. Maybe it’s just me, but the idea of a handheld computer makes me shiver (no, I’m not old at all). I like computers as computers. The iTouch is good as a PVP and has a lot of functionality. But I don’t want to regard it as a little computer.

One complaint I always had about any iPod was that it didn’t have great audio quality: it didn’t really use a fantastic sound chip. Added to that, the earphones that come with iPod, the famous white earbuds, SUCK. Chuck that pair and get something decent, maybe then the audio will sound better. And even worse, they don’t include a custom EQ setting. They have preset EQs, but no custom. WHY? GRR. I just always thought that an mp3 player is meant primarily to play music and that it should be good at doing so. Giving below average audio quality doesn’t really help. Which reminds me…

There are still some idiots out there that think iPods and mp3 players are different, and yet when they see me with like something from Sony, they ask “is that an iPod?”. I’m telling you, this world is weird. Anyways, back to the iPod thing…

Yeah….and how they never include an FM tuner and voice recorder, when other mp3s that are $200 cheaper do…..I really can’t understand that. I don’t think I want to, but it just doesn’t make sense.

Computers
Their computers, I have to say, are pretty nice. They have a nice finish on the outside, the iconic APPLE logo, a nice chiclet-style keyboard and a giganto trackpad (on their new MacPro). Their OS even looks pretty. My only problem is that I got so used to using Windows all my life that using Mac OS is both amazing, uncomfortable and traumatizing at the same time xD I mean, it does look pretty, but it’s not for me. They got some nice features and is really usable, but not with me.

So in conclusion, Apple is an ok company, it just needs to get rid of its ego….before I punch it out of them >:]] BWAHAHA.
