I just recently got a 3rd gen 32GB iPod Touch and updated it to iOS 4 right away. You can see a lot of great updates right on the spot and since I have no life and have nothing better to do, I’ll go through those updates. I’m sure a lot of people have already seen them and are enjoying it :D
This is what is would look like generally, but this is the iPhone
1. The most noticeable thing – the wallpaper. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS! Being able to customize your home screen wallpaper :DDD of course, it’d be better if you were able to move the icons wherever you want, but that’s just asking for too much. After all this IS Apple we’re talking about. But yeah, you can set different images for your lock screen and home screen wallpaper.
2. Multitasking is now here. You just press the home button twice (really fast though….seriously xD) and then a row of recently used apps show up on the bottom. Keep scrolling to the right to see all the apps you’e used (I honestly don’t know exactly how many apps this keeps in the list….perhaps all O.O) and if you scroll all the way to the left, there are your playback controls. You can long press on the icons as you would on the home screen (when moving icons). Doing this allows you to delete apps from the list so that you’re not wasting battery life or ….whatever xD apparently, this multitasking is supposed to SAVE battery life, but I wouldn’t count on that.
3. PLAYLIST MANAGEMENT FINALLY!! HALLELUJAH~!! You can now edit and create playlists right on the player. This is awesome. I’ve been waiting for this one as well oho yeah~ rename them, reorder, whatever, it’s all there :D granted, the buttons required for editing (they’re on the top of each playlist) might get annoying but AGH small price to pay HEHEHE
4. You can organize apps into folders! YES!! This is done simply by holding down an icon and then dragging on top of another icon. The default name of the folder depends on the icon’s category in the app store, but you can always rename it. Downside is, folders can only hold 12 apps each =___=
Well that’s basically the three BIG updates. There’s a few minor ones like….
* on the home screen, the “dock” is noticeably different
* text under icons have a shadow
* there is now airplane mode, even for the iPod Touch
* mail is organized a bit differently – all inboxes and then separate accounts
* you can now set what you want the spotlight search to search for (ex. everything but mail blah blah) in the settings
* spotlight search lets you search the internet or wikipedia also :D
* there are now “accounts” in notes: all notes, notes on iPod, or notes in your mail accounts – you can add notes to these mail accounts
* speed is slightly faster generally
* with the new update, new wallpapers are given….not that it really matters xDD
Also, I am DYING for this case~~
Cause I love flip cases, especially leather ones and I’ve seen this in black before. I. WANT. IT. Hey, if it’s leather, I can sew stuff onto it :DD FLIP CASE~!!!
